Peri Widener

After two years of success, the Widener Global Leaders Program led by the W. Frank Barton School of Business will continue for the next five years. The continuation of the program is made possible by a $300,000 gift from Peri Widener, the visionary behind the program. WGLP is an interdisciplinary program designed to create a transformational experience and foster an inclusive community for women majoring in business, communications and fine arts. The integration of the three disciplines reflects the skillset of Peri Widener, who utilized her background to thrive in the international business world.

Fifteen marketing leaders from across the country have been selected to serve on the board.

The W. Frank Barton School of at Wichita State University has announced the formation of its new Marketing Advisory Board. In conjunction, fifteen marketing leaders from across the country have been selected to serve on the board.

Envision Arts Program featured artist Nick Wooding

Another artist who is visually impaired has their work on display at Woolsey Hall, the home of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University in partnership with the Envision Arts Program. Nick Wooding, who is also blind and uses a wheelchair, is the newest Barton School featured artist. His mixed media pieces can be found of the third floor of Woolsey Hall and can be viewed any time during operating hours.

2023 Future Barton School Rudd Scholarship Winners: Hayden Hartung, Isabella Kilman, Zain Maknojia, Erik Moreno and Jade Simeona

Five Wichita State University Rudd Scholars will be pursuing a degree with the W. Frank Barton School of Business. The Rudd Scholarship, sponsored by the Rudd Foundation, provides each recipient with a full-ride scholarship, including tuition, fees and on-campus housing. Rudd Scholars are also provided with networking and coaching support throughout college.

鈥淓ntrepreneur鈥 Sculpture in Woolsey Hall

Woolsey Hall, the new building for the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University, is now home to the Chris Brunner sculpture titled, 鈥淭he Entrepreneur.鈥 Standing eight feet tall and three feet wide, this powerful piece serves as a sentinel and guardian at the entrance to the Frank A. Boettger Auditorium. Made of limestone and steel, 鈥淭he Entrepreneur鈥 is a modern, imposing, and approachable work of art.

Kayla Atkinson and Caleb Lowry

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has chosen two recipients to receive the 2023 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship. This year鈥檚 winners are Kayla Atkinson from Andover Central High School and Caleb Lowry from Eisenhower High School. They will each receive more than $32,500 spread over four years to attend 暗网禁区破解版 and major in entrepreneurship.

Jennifer Calvo and Nathan Holloway

In just its first year, the Collegiate DECA chapter at Wichita State University is already making its mark nationwide. The 暗网禁区破解版 team competed in the statewide DECA competition at Tabor College on February 24. Two members, Jennifer Calvo and Nathan Holloway, placed in the top three in their events. As a result, they will represent Kansas at a national collegiate DECA competition happening April 15th to 19th聽in Orlando, Florida.

2023 Koch Scholars Michael Goldberg, Allison Helmut, and Alaina Veatch.

Earlier this Spring, Wichita State University announced seven high school students from Kansas and Oklahoma have become the newest recipients of the Koch Scholarship. These Koch Scholars have been awarded $30,000 (for in-state students) or $45,000 (for out-of-state students) each. The competitive program is based on high academic achievement, work, volunteer and leadership experiences, an essay and an interview process.

Erin Cummings, a Barton School graduate, president of the school鈥檚 Dean鈥檚 Alumni Advisory Board and owner of YESyoga.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University will host Erin Cummings as she begins to showcase her first published work, 鈥淭he Possibility Project: A Guided Journal for Creating What鈥檚 Possible.鈥 The kickoff event will be at Woolsey Hall on April 27 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. It will feature a presentation by Cummings titled 鈥淢oving With Purpose and Unlocking Possibilities鈥 followed by a book signing opportunity for attendees along with a networking reception. Cummings is a Barton School graduate, president of the school鈥檚 Dean鈥檚 Alumni Advisory Board and owner of YESyoga.
